Arnold Hall is one of three major food service facilities on Oregon State University’s campus. Soderstrom reconfigured the space use within the existing building shell. The servery was doubled in size and changed to a market concept servery. Seating capacity was expanded and additional space was created for catering and other offices, as well as restrooms and post office functions for adjacent residence halls. The design and public bidding process, including student and staff focus group reviews, took six months, and construction three months, with double shifting and six-day work weeks.
