Dan Danielson, AIA
PRINCIPAL, PRESIDENT EMERITUS
Dan is the former president at Soderstrom Architects and also one of three founding principals. Dan specializes in the design of higher educational facilities such as student housing, academic halls, food service facilities, and physical plants, with an emphasis on sustainable design. Dan is known for his ability to produce unique and innovative solutions for the most challenging and complex projects. He actively pursues contextual design in the campus environment and believes every aspect of a project, from concept though design details, deserves equal attention.
Dan has won numerous awards and citations for his work, and continues to advocate for sustainable design in the learning environment. Several projects that Dan has spearheaded at the University of Portland have earned LEED recognition, including LEED Platinum certification (Donald P. Shiley Hall) , LEED Gold certification (Fields & Schoenfeldt Halls), and LEED Silver certification (Clark Library).
