Soderstrom Architects is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Talbot as Interior Design Director, marking a strategic expansion of its interiors practice.
Michael Talbot joins Soderstrom as Interior Design Director
With over 25 years of experience, Talbot will lead the interior design studio, focusing on integrated environments that enhance the user experience and elevate project outcomes.
Talbot joins Soderstrom from leadership roles in architecture firms across Portland, Seattle, and Chicago. He brings a wealth of experience across sectors, including education, healthcare, public interest, and workplace design. His portfolio includes award-winning projects with SRG Partnership, Mackenzie, and Cannon Design, serving clients such as Autodesk, KOIN Tower, and Oregon State University.
Joining Talbot is Senior Interior Designer Samantha Kelsey, who adds further depth to the team. With prior experience at Vida Design and SRG Partnership, Kelsey specializes in branded environments, higher education, hospitality, and workplace projects. Her design approach is rooted in expressing the unique culture and identity of each client.
Together, Talbot and Kelsey—longtime collaborators—are leading the incorporation of Soderstrom’s interiors team into the firm’s holistic design process. Their user-centered approach, grounded in discovery and visioning, is already shaping early-stage work on projects in K-12 and Hospitality sectors.
