Soderstrom Architects is proud to announce the promotion of Andy Bonesz, AIA, to Principal. Andy joined the firm in 2016 and has consistently demonstrated leadership, design excellence, and a strong commitment to mentorship and collaboration.

Promoted to Principal
Over the past several years, Andy has played a key role in shaping the firm’s K–12 practice, leading some of Soderstrom’s most significant and complex school projects. His recent work includes the full renovation of St. Helens High School and a major addition and renovation at Ashland Middle School. He is currently supporting bond-funded work for the St. Helens, Tillamook, and Bethel School Districts, helping them deliver modern learning environments that respond to evolving educational needs.
With more than 17 years of experience, Andy is known for his thoughtful approach to balancing the functional requirements of schools with meaningful architectural expression.
In his new role as Principal, Andy will contribute to the firm’s leadership through mentoring, fiscal stewardship, and the continued growth of the K–12 practice. He has also been instrumental in strengthening Soderstrom’s culture through initiatives that support collaboration, staff development, and opportunities for professional advancement.
Andy is a registered architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is also certified by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Design should support both the people who use buildings and the communities they serve.
