Abbott Claim winery exterior

Soderstrom is honored to share the news that Abbott Claim Winery recently took home the 2nd place award at the DJC Top Projects Awards in the Hospitality category. Designed by the Ferar Wine & Spirits Studio, the project was a strong team effort with general contractor Andrew Scott Construction and structural engineer Equilibrium Engineers.

Abbott Claim Winery was recognized as a thoughtful expression in built form of the rolling hills and beauty of Oregon’s Yamhill-Carlton region. The building is an accomplishment in meeting seemingly opposing objectives: to be an efficient wine production and aging facility, but also to have an understated serenity to the whole by concealing all piping and mechanical systems. The facility’s form and materials blend with the surrounding hills while not sacrificing any quality of interior materials or natural light. The result is a winery that is deeply integrated with its site, designed for optimal performance in both facilitating the winemaking process and creating singular guest experiences.

Thank you to the DJC Oregon for the recognition, and congratulations to the team! To read more about the project, check out the announcement here.
