Promotions to Associate Principal

Soderstrom is pleased to announce four promotions to Associate Principal this year, representing a new generation of leadership within our company. The following individuals have been promoted in recognition of their outstanding leadership skills and their significant impacts within the firm.
Meagan Baker, AIA, LEED AP
Promotion to Associate Principal
For the past eight years, Meagan has been instrumental to the success of Soderstom’s K-12 studio. She has had an integral role on some of the firm’s largest education projects, including the new Meadow Ridge Elementary School for Greater Albany Public Schools and currently the expansion and renovation at St. Helens High School. Meagan has also been a big proponent of knowledge-sharing within the firm and works to foster a strong company culture. In her new role, Meagan will continue to lead and manage K-12 projects as well as champion employee engagement efforts. Meagan is a registered architect and a LEED Accredited Professional with over 15 years of design and planning experience. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University.
Andy Bonesz, AIA
Promotion to Associate Principal
Having focused on K-12 design for the past five years, Andy has led some of the firm’s most significant, complex school projects recently, including the St. Helens Middle School replacement and a large-scale addition and renovation at Ashland Middle School. He has also been heavily involved in shaping Soderstrom’s firm culture in ways that improve collaboration and increase educational opportunities for staff. As Associate Principal, Andy will continue to lead K-12 projects, as well as seek to formalize programs within the firm for mentorship and staff education and advancement. Andy is a registered architect with over 14 years of experience. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology.
Erica Jankowski, AIA, LEED AP
Promotion to Associate Principal
Since joining Soderstrom in 2017, Erica has played a crucial role in the firm’s complex institutional projects. Her portfolio includes new fire stations for Deschutes County Rural Fire District #2 and the City of Millersburg, as well as the new Campus Operations Center for Oregon State University. Within the office, Erica has led initiatives to share technical knowledge, improve standards, and help junior staff gain experience. As Associate Principal, Erica will continue to lead civic and industrial projects, as well as maintain her focus on driving the firm toward even greater technical excellence. Erica is a registered architect and a LEED Accredited Professional with over 15 years of design and planning experience. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from University of Oregon.
Wayne van Loon
Promotion to Associate Principal
Wayne has been a lead player in the firm’s Wine & Spirits studio and has worked on winery projects for Domaine Serene, Lingua Franca, and Abbott Claim. Prior to practicing architecture, Wayne spent ten years working for a family-owned winery and also operating his own hard cidery. Wayne is active in the local community and has been heavily involved in the annual International Pinot Noir Celebration for over 25 years. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Sparkling Wine Symposium. In his new role, Wayne will continue to lead projects within the firm’s Wine & Spirits division and collaborate closely with owners to translate their vision and production goals into efficient and elegant designs. Wayne has over 15 years of experience in the programming and design of wineries along the west coast. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Architectural Project Management from Portland State University.
