Theory Café
A collaboration with EDG Design, the renovation of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry’s (OMSI) public cafeteria transformed the space into a destination restaurant which serves both museum goers and local businesses. The project reconfigured the dining areas and expanded the kitchen of the existing facility. The food preparation, which previously had been performed hidden from view, was moved to the customer point of sale to support expanded menu options. New finishes, lighting, signage, furniture and an eight foot long feature fireplace were included, as well as a remodeled exterior patio. Interpretive displays were designed in conjunction with OMSI’s staff to encourage diners to “explore the science of food.”
