Dallas High School Career Technical Education (CTE) Building

Using a new, freestanding pre-engineered metal building (PEMB), purpose built to house the high school’s existing CTE program, this project creates two large labs for wood and metal work. Each lab space has a linked classroom area as well, with direct line-of sight between the two for increased supervision and connection. The PEMB structure allows for an efficient and simple way to conceal the mechanical system by creating a platform above the lower-ceilinged classroom spaces that feeds directly into the shops. Designed with flexibility in mind, the new building was also designed to accomodate expansion if programs grow in the future.
