Freeland Spirits Distillery
Freeland Spirits is making a name for itself as one of the only women owned and operated distilleries in the nation. Ferar Studio renovated a 1940s-era Safeway Store in Northwest Portland to encompass craft spirits production, barrel aging and a tasting room featuring a view of the distillery’s centerpiece, a custom copper still made by German manufacturer Kothe. Large windows behind the tasting bar allow guests to view the process of turning grain into whiskey as they sample a variety of Freeland’s delicious spirits.
