St. Francis K-8 School
St. Francis Parish School was the first newly constructed K-8 Catholic School in the Portland area in thirty years. Completed in phases starting in 2004, the 450-student school consists of 14 classrooms, an athletic center, science rooms, art classrooms, a media center, and administrative offices. The facility saves energy with daylighting in every classroom, passive ventilation systems and high efficiency mechanical and electrical systems. The new athletic center incorporates the latest nano cell technology in passive daylighting and allows 80% daylight penetration. Additionally, the new athletic center is designed to be a community amenity, and accommodates adult basketball, community meetings, and theatrical events.
